How to Have a Friend With Benefits

How to Have a Friend With Benefits

Do you remember the movie “Friends with benefits” with Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis?

Well this is a typical scenario that so many young people are living now: a no-strings-attached relationship with a friend who you like physically and you have sex with. If  a serious love story is just not for you or you aren’t in love with anyone, why not explore this kind of “friendship”? It might be the perfect option! This is a pretty typical situation these days.

To live peacefully in this type of “relationship”, here’s a  few key things you might like to keep in mind:

1) YOU ARE FRIENDS NOT ENGAGED.
Think carefully about whether or not it would bother you to see them with someone else on their arm
Think carefully about whether or not it would bother you to see them with someone else in their arms

You have sex, yes, but nothing else has changed. You’re both free to date other people and live your own lives. This is something you should talk about first, immediately set the record straight because the boundaries of this relationship are fluid and may change continuously. It’s important to be on the same page before getting into the fun stuff.
2) DO NOT BE CLINGY OR JEALOUS.
Get in the right mind set. It might be a good idea to discuss how you both feel about each other and be honest! Friends usually do care a lot about each other, it can be confusing and you don’t want anyone getting hurt. Think carefully about whether or not it would bother you to see them with someone else in their arms. Once the boundaries are set you need to keep in mind that you are not the only person in their lives. Keep things light and fun!

3) YOU MUST FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS.
This is possibly the most important tip! This has got to be right for you. If the idea of this kind of relationship makes you uncomfortable then maybe its not for you? You should have the awareness before you embark on this way of life, that it will only work if you are clear headed. Don’t have expectations for the future of the friendship, and don’t question whether you, or they are girlfriend/boyfriend material.
Pros.
A no-strings-attached relationship with a friend who you just have sex with is a pretty typical situation these days. Here’s a  few tips you need to know before starting this adventure
This is not a booty-call! You care about your friend, you are comfortable with them and nothing else changes. You do all the things you did before such as chatting and going out. You get to keep your friend ..and also enjoy the benefit of satisfying your sexual needs!
Cons.
This is not for everyone. Accidents happen and nobody can control their emotions. It is possible that one of you might fall in love with the other.
This could be unrequited, would it have been a risk worth taking?

Or...

Would you live the perfect love story?
Don’t worry about it too much and live your love life as you want!

Have you ever had a friend with benefits? How was your experience? Do you have any advice to give to those who are thinking about it?
